best of 2009 – new person(s)

Who are your unsung heros of 2009?

I know I blog about wonderful, magical people all the time. I feel extraordinarily grateful to have amazing people in my life. And now, the best of 2009 series has given me the perfect opportunity to give the most appropro shout outs to the best additions of 2009!

Danielle LaPorte , whether she knows it or not, she kicked 2009 off like no other year. I met the beautifully dreaded chic in a coffee shop for tea in Vancouver and she threw a bunch of tough questions on the table. She called my bluff; she admired the hot men on motorcycles; she just showed up for a tea date. My heart was spun. And a month later, when i met her for my first Fire Starter session (after serious persuasion!), she looked across the table, rested her hand on my arm (in that gentle “just shut up for a second” kind of way) and told me “i’ve got it. you’ve got something good here“. She sparked the fire. It gonna be set ablaze exactly 1 year later in 2010! My heart still beats faster when i read a new blog update, see her name in my inbox or receive a WhiteHotTruth postcard. I know she will forever be a proudly sung-about hero in my world!

Kasia Fink is a pretty lady I had been stalking online and had met in several social gatherings prior to 2009. This past year something changed. I had the opportunity to really get to know this girl – to celebrate the joys of her launching her first biz, the roller coaster ride that comes along with it and the bliss of now being preggo, among other things. I came to appreciate the beauty that lies within her soo deep under her skin. She is my go-to-girl for the things I love most: bloggin’, blazin’ entrepreneurial paths and real life girl chatter. I just love her!

Jess Kirkwood is a girl, simply put I could not have lived without this year. She is also not a new addition as a human being to my world – we were in fact childhood friends – but her soul-sista kinda love was very new this year. Perhaps the biggest highlight was crossing the finish line of Ironman under her year of direction, but the convos that ensued and the email exchange reminded me that the world is small and Hawaii is only one internet connection away. I’m so thrilled that I will be able to end the amazingness of 2009 with her — it seems so totally appropro!

Linsey Corbin is hands down my favorite celebrity! Her visit to our home, albeit brief, left behind years of inspiration on the path to pursuing your crazy life dreams. This chic knows what matters most and has got a heart of gold to go after it! She ended 2009 on an Ironman podium and TeamFab will always be her biggest fans. Go Cowgirl Corbin Go!

There are two very special men that deserve to make this list as well – I’m sure you know them – Matt Corker & Doug Irwin. While they are also not new human beings to my life, what are new are their titles of Raving Fan & Chief of a Man’s Opinion. When I was certain they simply couldn’t be any more fabulous or get any better ..they got better. They will never know just how grateful I am, but this will serve a small token of my enormous gratitude for their awesomeness! They remind me that when you think it is as good as it will ever get — it gets better!

i thought this was as good as it would get...but it's gettin' better!

And to everyone else who I have crossed paths with this year, thank you! Thank you for being exactly who you are — my training partners, my co-workers, my coffee dates, my yoga instructors, my girlfriends and boyfriends, my baristas, my homeless buddies. You are all such beautiful people who I hope I can inspire a lil mo’love, mo’laughter, mo’livin…just as you have to me!
