Some may say that we’re dreamers…

But we’re not the only ones! Where has a week gone – i’m not sure?

What we know for sure is that when you do press handstands with your best friends in the morning + drink coconut milk all afternoon, it’s a pretty sweet life.

When you add lobsters + a bottle of wine for dinner under the Full Moon, it’s 100% wholeawesomegoodness…we hit a new level of euphoria meets cosmic-possibility-explosion.

The night ended with a business plan for a a yoga retreat center in Hawaii….

DreamOn! xx

Tuesday featuring Tara!

BucketLists over Breakfast with bottomless coffee….

Leads to goals in the sand (see BucketList #7 )

And of course more yogayogayoga…i nevereverever thought 3hr on the mat was possible! It’s actually remarkable.

Chris + I then convinced our new buddy to come for a bike ride…you might know her voice from 103.5 in Vancouver – her name is Tara! She is absolutely hilarious, laughs at our jokes and hourly we uncover something else that makes us bust a gut or fall over in awe. She is a mama of two and wakes up at 4am to dish on the Kardashians, yo! (And also informed me at dinner that knit1purlTWO is actually prettier!)

We doubled into town to get her a bike to join us on a bike adventure. I felt like a lil rickshaw man in Beijing. But we don’t have pictures (yet! spotty connection!) and really, pictures are worth a 1,000,000 words.

With buzzing lil brains + vibrating souls, …It’s time to go…the sun is up and Meditation with Meghan is waiting on the beach…

MayaTulumMagicMonday

Day2 from the beach…served straight up from drunk-on-namaste Christa + Steph!

The day started with the sun blaring thru the window of our wee lil hut – ocean view is really not so shabby….

We rocked out a 3hr power class that had at least 17 backbends Christa is convinced.

And those backbends were promptly followed by enchiladas + guacamole and a whole lotta beach. We landed in the hammocks where I proceeded to read How Yoga Works aloud  to Christa.

It was pure hilarity. …and only got better when the raddest capoeira class broke out…there was chanting and handstands and no-handed-cartwheels….

When all of a sudden the one-and-truly-only Meghan Currie proceeds to cut a piece of sand with these kinda moves….

Christa proceeds to follow in the most perpendicular posture ever….

And Nico is really jealous so jumps up and down for some attention for the ladies (insert no comment here)…

The day finished with yet another class of bliss and a plate of totally energized, love-filled, vibrationally-buzzing food.

And that just might be a wrap of a beautiful day! Sweet dreams until a juicy sunfilled day tomorrow… xo

(ppssst - aren’t you glad i finally figured out how to post my pics! and life without facebook means longer posts + more pics…it just needs to happen!)

Day1 in Paradise!

WOW! They call this land paradise…I might need to call it Living the Dream. My buddy Christa + I arrived in the dark on Saturday and woke up to this on Sunday morning:

(view from our sweet lil hut)

After an hour morning meditation, 2.5hr power class, an afternoon of ReadingBooks/Palapas/BeachTime, a sweet visit from a friend who is down here rockin’ her teacher training and an evening flow class…my mind has officially been blown. Actually, I was blown after the first power class. Everything else for the rest of this week will be juicy bonus! I think we have 16 classes to go if you can even believe it!

(This is what a power class with Meghan + Nico looks like…gasp!)

And what I know for sure is that as soon as my feet hit the sand, the sun kiss my skin and the waves crash against the beach….my heart rate lowers and I can officially reeeeeeeelax (or CalmTheFranceDown, CTFO!). The only thing missing from this beautiful getaway are our husbands. Hunny, I just really think we need to move to Hawaii…xo

(wow…every picture is just uploading in their own special way…enjoy that!)

En route to the beach…

I’m leaving for my first yoga retreat bright + early tomorrow morning. Maya Tulum with Christa Hull + YYoga’s finest teachers await for 7days of sandy downward dogs. I really cannot wait.

This is what is coming along for the week:

And this is what will be crossed off the Bucket List: Yoga Retreat, somewhere ridiculously warm. Success will look like a handstand on the beach.

Warning: I predict daily updates that might make you wish you too were in Mexico! I am not going to apologize:)

Facebook Deactivated!

It happened. On November 1st. It might change on Nov 30th but it might not. I realized that whenever anyone asked me how I was doing, I would oh-so-promptly respond with “life is full; I’m great”. The truth of the matter is my life is full and my lil heart+soul were not. I have a goal to hang with a girlfriend once a week (who sets these goals?!), I have scarves to knit, muffins to bake and a really rad husband who will play scrabble with me if my head is outta my laptop. Facebook helped contribute to my fullness in life and void in being a rad offline friend. So I’m gonna give this a whirl….more blogging will most likely be the by-product; fuller friendships sound inevitable and knit1purl1x100 will mo’def be happenin’! See you on the sidewalk:)

XOXO!

Happy Pumpkin Season!

Isn’t it awesome to see the creativity that oooozes during Hallowe’en?! I’m always so impressed!  While my costume creativity isn’t worth blogging about, the “HR Team” at lululemon is really somethin’ special:

And this lil trick+treater was my favorite:

In the name of Pumpkin season, if you find one that hasn’t been carved…try this out:

Pumpkin Soup in a Pumpkin

It starts like this:

Then, you clean it out (toast the seed, obviously), and add this or some combination thereof all inside your pump:

(I used 4 gloves of garlic, carrots, celery, left over zucc, 1can coconut milk, 1c veg broth, S+P+spices galore)

Place the one-heck-of-a-full-pumpkin in the oven at 325 for about an hour, +/- 30min:)

Scoop out the insides to blend in your vitamix and POOF! Delish soup! Crunchy cracker + a bowl of soup…..smells like Fall in our kitchen.

PowerPancakes, ft. The Scanpan!

I’ve been praying for a rainy Sunday for a few weeks now….rainy enough to make a long run feel fresh and cold enough to want to spend the rest of the day curled up inside with candles lit, kitchen treasures to create + perhaps some knit1purl1 action! Today is THAT day! #yes

Post the long wetcoldfresh run with The Board of Directors of girlfriends, I whipped up these power pancakes for breakfast. My man informed me they taste like “oatmeal outta a pan”. I think they taste like oatmeal-gone-even-better! They are worth trying – and easy to boot.

Throw these things in a bowl + mix:
2eggs
1 1/2 c-ish of oatmeal
1c-ish cottage cheese
sprinkling of cinnamon + nutmeg
drizzle a wee bit of agave

It will look something like this:

They cook quite quickly. Faster than normal pancakes in fact. Low/Med heat until golden brown is perfect. We like making smaller ones so i used a 1/4c of batter per ‘cake.

Like great accessories can make an outfit, great toppings make a power pancake! We threw frozen blueberries on a couple + pb+banana on others.

Enjoy…a SundayRestDay. xo

(why these pics are publishing upside down, i’m not sure….try tilting your head….the world thru a different view is usually not a bad thing:))

A Kitchen Necessity: Scanpan Pan

Just like a Vitamix is simply the best “blender” (in quotations, because really, it is SO much more than just a blender), a Scanpan is absolutely the very best pan to have on your stove.

Our recently tried-tested-true-verywellused pans needed to be replaced. My man was determined to finally have a cast-iron pan in our home and I was keen to increase our all-clad ownership. We meandered thru our local Ming Wo and “compromised” on bringing home the Scanpan. It was no compromise – it is terrific. Totally non-stick, enviro-friendly, superfastheat, dishwasher compatible (tho it won’t go in there, oh no!), light enough for me, perfect depth. It’s great! And they are on sale! #justsayin

They just so happen to be made in the Happiest Place in the World – no coincidence!

Made in Denmark.

Note: my man just rolled his eyes as he walked by and said, are you really blogging about this? Naturally, i respond with a big fat yes…because it is actually fabulous! And all great things are worth blogging about:)
